Day 69 | epic last day

Happy Valentine's Day!  Thank you Mother Nature for the snow!  Another 10cm fell overnight and another 20cm was suppose to fall during the day.

This was the last week of WESP.  We couldn't have ended today on a better note.  Not only was the powder epic, but our seven year old was checked out at noon, leaving three hours with kids who could shred the gnar like there was no tomorrow.

It was super windy today and once again, no lifts opened in the Alpine. (oh I wish I had tomorrow off!).  I wasn't going to sit on a chair in the wind so my plan was to lap the gondola all day.  The first run we hit was Expressway and I virtually took a six inch fresh line all the way to Crabapple.  We then got tons of knee deep fresh lines on Crabapple, ended up in the village and loaded the gondola for another lap.

Lunch was early, 11am, so we only had time for one run from the Roundhouse back to Creekside.  We hit the powder just under RH in the open area between the trees.  From there we rocked over to Jimmy's Joker.  That run was insanely fun.

In the afternoon, we got some side hits off Ptarmigan then up again and rode Tokum.  By then we needed a water break and chilled out for 15 minutes at the CLC.  Our last run was from the Roundhouse, down through the open trees, across Bear Cub, Goat's Gully to Kadenwood.  We cut across Kadenwood to Dave Murray downhill (a nice little full on powder stretch that I never noticed before) and we finally made it to Creekside for check out.  It was a full day, a fun day, and their last day.  But not mine.  Fingers crossed for a high level class tomorrow.
